Busy weekend, after all
So the weekend ended up being much more busy than I anticipated! Saturday was a little pre-birthday supper with the family, followed by an impromptu get together with Stu & Roweena, as well as Dave and Greg. It was so great to see those guys! Stu and Row's wedding was in June so it had been a few months since we had caught up. Nothing much changes but I left feeling refreshed, even on such a rainy and gloom-filled day.In the photo are Elisha and Josh, who kindly took me out for a birthday meal at Jack Astor's in London on Sunday night. It was really tasty and we had excellent dinner conversation. Elisha and I capped the evening off with the best movie EVER - Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. It was so cheesily delightful, with sexy dance moves and wildly wonderful music. The perfect bday celebration. Now, if I could only find a dance partner!
Today has been spent cleaning the apartment and getting all ready for tomorrow. And I mean it this time when I say that this year will REALLY be my last "first day of school"...it's only taken a couple of degrees to reach this point!
In other news, I'm hoping to write a paper to present at this conference next year. My good friend Mandy is one of the conference organizers, and I figure it would be a way to boost the old CV. Plus a trip to Alberta is never a bad thing!
You would think that after 20 some odd years of going to school that those nervous "first day" feelings would have subsided by now...they haven't.
