Where I'd like to be, and other ramblings
Things are going well here, one week into the fray. Lots of projects at work, including getting ready for the conference which is scary and wonderful and overwhelming. Some of the outings I have planned in Salt Lake City include a trip to the LDS Genealogy Library along with a rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. A total rager to be sure! I'll be making stops at the Calgary, Denver and San Francisco airports and spending an extra day in SLC to explore some more of the sites.
Other things that have been occupying my time? Recovering from jet lag and general vacation hangover, getting back into the every day prairie life, and lots of busy-ness with an organization I've been involved with since the summer. It is called Dress For Success, and I sit on the board for DFS Regina. We had our grand opening on February 29th and it seemed like perfect timing to do this in a leap year. I have met some really fantastic people by getting involved. If any of you have the interest or the opportunity, I highly recommended DFS. Their worldwide headquarters is in NYC and they do some very exciting things. It's become a big part of my life and I'm sure one of the many reasons I have not been blogging as frequently.
Anyway, that's all from here. The snow is starting to melt and even though I still have to scrape frost and ice off my car each morning, spring does look to be on its way.
Here are some of my new music choices of late:
And a movie watch:
I have watched this about 4 times because they keep showing it on my movie channels. Love it. The bit about Norwegian death metal was fascinating. The filmaker talked to the death metal musician who was convicted of burning down a Lutheran church, as well as the minister from the church. They touched briefly on the history of religion there, but the connection between metal and religion, as well as satanism was really something. Anyway, that's your recommendation for the day.
From mormoms to metal-heads! That's how we roll over here on a Wednesday afternoon.
